Cynthia began her modeling career after moving from New York. Cynthia was soon signed to a 5-year contract to Wihelmina Models, which led her to an extremely successful debut book that was the cover of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's Essence first cover was one of the most sold covers but was also Susan Taylor's preferred. Cynthia was awarded her second cover soon after and this created the foundation for her lucrative career. The next stop was Paris, and Milan. In Milan, she was walking the catwalks at Paris Fashion Week. Cynthia relocated to New York City after living abroad for nearly a year. Her campaign comprised Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's. The magazine editorials of Vogue Glamour Elle Essence and Vanity Fair followed. Cynthia was a major career success when she was selected over Naomi Campbell as Sandra Bernhadt's co-star in "Without You I Am Nothing".
